Bill Burns is a seasoned leader in supply chain, logistics, and maritime operations, bringing over thirty years of hands-on experience in global transportation, vessel operations, and commodity trading. He commands deep domain knowledge across petroleum, chemicals, oil & gas, break-bulk, project cargo, and bulk commodities.

Bill has held senior leadership roles at Inchcape Shipping Services, Coastal Cargo, Kinder Morgan Terminals, and Doyen Capital—where he oversaw large-scale vessel operations, international trading initiatives, and terminal development projects. As Managing Director of Kinsale Maritime Global Consulting, he delivered full-service consulting and freight transport solutions, with particular strength in vessel chartering and integrated logistics planning.

Among his standout achievements, Bill pioneered the export of U.S. sized coal to the Turkish market, spearheaded the design and development of cutting-edge bulk storage facilities, and negotiated high-value, cross-border contracts that reshaped partnerships in major trade corridors.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from SUNY Maritime College and is a licensed Merchant Marine Deck Officer. He remains active in the maritime community through membership in the Houston Maritime Arbitrators Association and the West Gulf Maritime Association.

Now, as President of Kinsale Maritime Global Consulting, Bill continues to steer the firm’s strategic growth, solidify client relationships, and deliver operational excellence with conviction, innovation, and integrity across domestic and international markets.
